What stays on your devices
Your clocks, people, working hours, trips, reminders and widget designs are stored on your device. Dayside works fully offline: city search, time zone rules and public holidays are built into the app.
Optional features that use Apple services
These features are off until you use them, and they talk only to Apple, never to us:
- iCloud sync. If iCloud is on, your clocks sync through your private iCloud database. Apple stores it under your Apple Account; we can't see it. Apple Watch receives your clocks from your iPhone directly.
- Weather. If you turn weather on, the coordinates of the cities you've added are sent to Apple Weather to fetch conditions. They aren't linked to you.
- Map search. When a place isn't in the built-in list, what you type is sent to Apple Maps to find it.
- Siri and Shortcuts. Requests are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
Permissions
- Calendar (optional): read on your device to show when you're busy. Nothing is copied or uploaded. Events you choose to add are saved to your own calendar.
- Contacts (optional): used on your device to show a linked contact's photo.
- Notifications and alarms (optional): scheduled locally on your device.
Shared links
When you share a time, the meeting details are encoded in the part of the link after the "#". Browsers never send that part to a server, so the details are decoded on the recipient's device. The share page is served from dayside.world through Amazon CloudFront, which, like any web host, keeps standard request logs such as IP addresses and the page requested.
Crash reports
If you choose to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. You control this in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Children
Dayside collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date.
